Story

Welcome to ‘I Can Do It Wear,’ where empowerment meets elegance. I’m Sweania, the founder of ‘I Can Do It Wear’ and this is my story.Â
I was born and raised on the exotic island of Bali. From an early age, I had a passion for swimming and dancing, starting at just three years old. My parents divorced, and life was challenging until my father met my angel mom and she raised me. I began swimming competitively at eight, despite my family’s financial struggles. Covering daily expenses was tough, let alone paying for swimming lessons. However, it didn’t stop me and with immense support from my father and angel mom, I pursued my dream of becoming a swimming champion. Despite being bullied and doubted by many, I achieved numerous national and international swimming accolades.
Â
As an athlete, I learned that achieving goals is never easy, especially when growing up with less. Giving up was never an option for me. In 2013 tragedy struck when I lost my angel mom at thirteen, the most difficult time in my life. Everything seemed to collapse, but with my father’s unwavering belief in me, we supported each other through the worst times. To channel my frustration, I chose the extreme sport of triathlon. I competed internationally for the first time at fourteen, using my sister’s mountain bike against professional racing bikes. I always thought if I didn’t win, I couldn’t continue because of our financial situation. With only three months of preparation, I won first place in my age category, a feeling beyond words. Shortly after my angel mom’s passing, a sponsor from Singapore gifted me a high-quality racing bike, and other kind people, whom I consider angels, supported me. An Australian-Indonesian lawyer family also helped me find a scholarship to study at my dream school, and I received a full scholarship from Green School Bali.
The saying “no pain, no gain” rang true for me. My triathlon career continued until I was seventeen when I competed in Perth, sponsored by an international company and Jetstar Australia. Just five days before the race, I discovered I had a leg fracture. Faced with the choice of risking my ability to continue in sports or not racing, I chose to compete. My mantra was, “I can do it,” which I repeated constantly, even during the race, despite the intense pain. I finished first in my age category, another magical moment in my life.
Â
From a young age, I dreamt of opening a swimming school to inspire others, especially the younger generation, to learn to swim and create a safe, healthy community for kids and adults. At eighteen, after graduating from Green School, I established my swimming school in 2017 and together with my father we provided scholarships to talented swimmers in need.Â
Â
My dance journey began at fifteen with Latin dancing. It was another challenging period, growing up with little and struggling to afford nice things. I learned by watching tutorials from renowned artists and attending social dances daily, balancing my sports commitments, school, homework, and rest. Determined to become a Latin dancer, I practiced whenever I could and eventually achieved my goal. At twenty, I started teaching Bachata classes, gained recognition for my dance and teaching style, and received international invitations to perform and teach. I established a dance team with several talented female dancers and I have now opened a dance school in Ubud, Bali, for both kids and adults, featuring an amazing lineup of teachers.
Inspired by my journey, I created a clothing line that mirrors my story and determination. I launched the “I Can Do It” line at the end of 2021, amid the pandemic, when I was at a financial low point. Unable to pay rent, I traded with a client for a place to stay. Believing in my vision, I used my last 1 million rupiah to start my clothing line, buying materials, paying a tailor, and covering technical costs. I knew that hard work and belief in oneself would lead to success. Today, I design and share my passion through my clothing line, empowering others. Each piece carries a positive message, inspiring you to be the best version of yourself. “I can do it.”
Thank you for reading my story. If I can do it, you can too. Join me as we celebrate strength, grace, beauty and empowerment through our exquisite clothing line. Keep shining bright!Â
